Tallinna Linnatranspordi AS began carrying passengers with an electric bus in the capital today on route 4 that operates between Balti jaam and Mustam\u00e4e.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Urbino 12 electric bus that was brought to Tallinn for the test period is an emission-free public transport vehicle that is particularly suitable for use in urban transport as its noise and vibration levels are low.
The bus measures 12 meters in length and can travel 150 km on a single charge. The bus seats 31 and accommodates 45 standing passengers. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to Deniss Borodit\u0161, the chairman of the management board of Tallinna Linnatranspordi AS, the purpose of testing the electric bus is to evaluate whether the mileage, charging speed and the comfort of the passengers specified by the manufacturer are suitable for our conditions, as well as to assess the capacity of the infrastructure to accommodate electric buses. Borodit\u0161 stressed that the implementation of new technology is necessary to ensure clean air in the city and more convenient public transport.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The test period provides important answers to the questions that need to be addressed in order to move towards the long-term goal of TLT AS which is to fully switch to electric transport by 2035 at the latest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The test period of the electric bus is set to run until 15 July.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
