Tram service will be temporarily suspended in the Tondi area starting from 15 March

On Friday, 15 March, the reconstruction works of the Tondi railway crossing will resume and due to this, the Tondi tram terminal will be closed from 15 March to 1 August.

The routes of tram lines No. 3 and 4 will be shortened and end at the Vana-Lõuna stop during that time. Tram lines No. 1, 2 and 5 will continue to operate on their usual routes until 3 May. Milling and asphalting works will also take place on Kotka Street in connection with the construction works of the Tondi railway crossing.

During the reconstruction of the tramways, the section of Tondi Street between the intersection of Alevi Street and the Tondi crossing will be closed as well.

On 15 March, the start date of the works, during the morning rush hours, officials from the City Centre District Government will be present at Tallinn-Väike and Tondi tram stops and they will explain traffic changes and direct people to bus stops if necessary.

There may be delays on detoured lines and the walking distance to stops in the city centre area may increase. Information materials will be placed at public transport stops with the changed routes. By the start of the construction works, timetables, travel planner, routes and stops of the lines can be found on the website transport.tallinn.ee.
